If you think my mind stayed in Old Town and if you don’t want to go far away from the beach, you are in front of Dobrota! You can throw yourself into Stari Grad, where you can reach a few minutes on foot, after saying a good view to the beach hotels. Moreover, it is possible to find hotels in Dobrota for every budget and every taste! There are many hotels especially on the beach. Also, the sea view cafes and entertainment venues here are quite active even if not as much as Stari Grad.

4- Climb to Sveti Ivan Castle

You should definitely climb to Sveti Ivan Castle during your Kotor journey. The castle is 280 meters above sea level. Located at the hill. Keep your camera ready before you start climbing towards the castle. Because I am sure that you will photograph the magnificent view of Boka bay without stopping for a moment. Every time you climb the castle, you will be fascinated by the enormous city view of Kotor.

This square is the most important meeting point of Old Town in Kotor. There is a Clock Tower built in the 17th century in the square, 17-18. There are 3 small palaces and Town Halls built in the 17 or 18 th centuries.

6- Listen to the Silence : Perast

Perast is generally known as the quietest place in Kotor today. Narrow streets and numerous mostly abandoned Renaissance and Baroque palaces are one of the most comprehensive information about the old riches of Boka bay and the days when the inhabitants lived a luxurious life. Perast was a town where sailors lived. Even today, it is possible to see the settlements where seafarers live.

7- Skrpjela Island

Skrpjela Island is one of two magnificent islands in Boka bay. This island is also called “the island of dead captains”. According to one legend, the ball fired by the French soldier hit the house where his daughter was located, causing his death. This legend is even mentioned in the work of the Swiss painter Beklin called “The Island of the Dead”.

8- Enjoy with Kotor Carnaval

The Kotor Festival, organized in February every year, is one of the most entertaining events of the city. It hosts colorful images with local dishes, dance shows and activities for children. If you go to Kotor in February, definitely join the festival.

9- Taste Black Risotto

Black Risotto, with its Italian influences, is a very delicious dish made from the ink of the cuttlefish with its large portions. Although its appearance is not very appetizing, its taste is really delicious. If you are looking for different flavors, this dish will be a good try for you. My advice for wine lovers will be to choose a glass of white wine to accompany your Risotto!
